Lastly it was REFLECTIONS. To my knowledge it's been closed for quite some time.

You might be thinking of Hollywood Palace which later became Coast to Coast. We heard Mannekin play there, among other great Balto. bands.

Further up on Rt. 40 was a bar called Howard Place which used to have bands like Pine Street Station.

Yeah, Coast to Coast was a great spot, played many gigs there and remember it well, along with some of the other great venues in the old days like the Sea Gull Inn, Capricorn, Sandbar, and Maxwells. I played drums for a band called Rolls Royce during that period(83'-84). Great times, big rooms(you could even run a follow spot in some of them), genuine music fans......we used to do 2, 2 nighters a week and made enough bread to have full p.a,, lights, roadies, and a big truck! Boy, things have changed. We used to rotate those five clubs with the likes of Trigger Happy, Boot Camp, Spectrum, and the Ravyns. You're right, Coast to Coast was previously Hollywood Palace. It was in a good size strip center (may have been called Rt. 40 West Shopping Plaza or Park Plaza).
There was, and still may be a Pizza Hut across the street. Saw some good nationals there too, like Loverboy, Dixie Dregs, Michael Schenker Group.

I remember the Golden 40 well, but it wasn't the one that was originally asked about. Golden 40 was almost to Edgewood on Route 40, and hosted show bands on weekends and that great Baltimore band Paper Cup on Thursdays.

I was with one of the show bands that played there, called Pinoy. My most vivid memory of the place was that we used to use a concussion device at the end of our floor show that used to blow ceiling tiles out of the ceiling ;-) Scared the hell out of everyone in the club. Can't get away with that stuff anymore, but man, we had a great time playing there.

I also remember they had a regular DJ there that got murdered...stabbed to death. This would have been in the early 1980s.

The place was demolished quite some time ago...I think a drug store sits on the property now.

The one that was next to the Martins Eastwind was the Latin Casino which burned down in the 80's.

During the mid '80's, on the other end of Rt.40 was a restaurant called VACARINO'S, and the club was called "Back of the Vac" that had weekend bands like Dragonfly and Jagged Edge. I remember they had a fire and they tore it down.
